Review: Arkanaut “Endrinfall”
The second episode of Arkanaut, titled Endrinfall, continues the adventure of Captain Orra Ironhelm and her crew in the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar universe. After acquiring a contained Stormcast soul, the crew finds itself under attack from the Nighthaunt spirits and the Helsmiths of Hashut. What follows is a dangerous fight as they try to protect their prize and survive the attacks.
The best aspect of the episode is the action. The crew has to deal with different enemies, and things become more difficult when the Helsmiths join the fight. Their attack includes deathshrieker rockets and an Infernal Taurus that rams the airship. These moments make the battle exciting and show just how much trouble Orra and her crew are in.
The Nighthaunt spirits also make for dangerous opponents, and the combination of spectral enemies and the Helsmiths gives the episode some variety. The introduction of the Helsmiths of Hashut is another interesting thing, especially for viewers familiar with the Warhammer universe. Their appearance expands the world of the series and brings a new threat into the story.
Although the episode focuses heavily on the action, the Stormcast soul remains central to the conflict. It is the reason the crew attracts so much unwanted attention, and protecting it becomes a difficult task. The story follows a fairly straightforward path, but the different enemies and the aerial combat make the journey enjoyable to watch.
Endrinfall is an entertaining continuation of Arkanaut. The action is its biggest strength, and the appearance of the Helsmiths of Hashut makes the conflict more interesting. While the episode does not spend much time developing its characters, it delivers an engaging battle and leaves viewers curious about how Orra and her crew will deal with what’s next.
