English Dub Review: Overgeared “Second Class”
Overview
The Mero Company sends Huroi, an Orator, to the village. There, he forcibly triggers a hidden quest…!?
Our take
Picking up from the previous episode, Grid finds himself caught up in a quest involving Huroi, a Mongolian player whose determination to stand up for others makes him surprisingly admirable. However, Grid’s interest lies more in the promised reward than in playing the hero. Meanwhile, another player by the name of Erina/Euphemina’s impressive abilities set the stage for some hilarious interactions and an entertaining rivalry.
Despite Grid’s amusing expressions, shameless trolling, and comedic voice acting, his greed and selfishness can make him difficult to root for. The game’s elaborate quests and scheming NPCs add some intriguing world-building, but the sluggish pacing and lack of urgency occasionally hold the episode back.
Overall, this episode delivered plenty of laughs while introducing promising developments for Euphemina and Grid’s blacksmithing journey. However, uneven pacing prevents it from reaching its full potential, and certain changes may disappoint longtime fans. Hopefully, the next episode finds a better balance between comedy, character development, and action.
