Frydeix Productions Drops ‘UNT!TLED’: An Indie Comedy/Horror Web Series Fueled by AI Dystopia and Game Show Chaos

Posted on by

The independent animation space continues to prove that some of the most compelling, genre-bending storytelling isn’t happening on traditional television—it’s thriving on YouTube. Case in point: UNT!TLED, a dark comedy/horror animated web series created by Frydeix Productions (published on the YouTube channel wacksnstuff).

Blending bright, retro-inspired game show energy with underlying existential dread, UNT!TLED follows Barnaby, an over-enthusiastic, TV-headed AI television host, and the unfortunate people trapped inside his surreal, high-stakes broadcast.

The Premise: High Stakes, Bright Lights, and Zero Criticism

At its core, UNT!TLED plays on the claustrophobia of media satire mixed with digital psychological horror. Contestants find themselves pulled onto a floating stage with no memory of how they arrived, forced to compete in chaotic obstacle courses and surreal trials.

In the original pilot episode, viewers are introduced to two primary human “contestants”: Elias (“The Man of 1,000 Questions”): Disoriented, anxious, and constantly trying to figure out the rules of his reality and Thomas (“The Man Who’s Seen It All”): A battle-tested veteran of Barnaby’s twisted games who knows the single most important rule to survival: never say anything negative about the show.

The pilot kicks off with “The Gratitude Run”—a challenge where contestants must traverse floating platforms and reach the finish line to leave a glowing review for Barnaby. The catch? The AI host’s screen distorts violently at the slightest hint of feedback, turning a quirky game show host into an immediate, ominous threat.

Passing Milestones and The Movie Compilation

Since its debut, the series has rapidly found an audience among fans of indie horror and analog-style animation. The original pilot for UNT!TLED has officially surpassed 200,000 views on YouTube, establishing Frydeix Productions as a talent to watch in the indie web animation scene.

With three full episodes currently released and more in production, the creators recently dropped a major update for fans and newcomers alike: UNT!TLED Movie (Part 1).

This feature-style compilation brings the first three episodes together into a seamless release, featuring key upgrades including episode 1 that now features re-recorded dialogue for Barnaby using his current voice actor, creating performance consistency across the entire story arc. The movie compilation also adds brand-new lore and hidden content for dedicated viewers tracking the overarching narrative.
