English Dub Review: Yowayowa Sensei “A Weak and Wimpy Date”

Overview:

Nothing untoward will occur once swimsuits are worn, right?

Our Take(Spoilers):

Abikura ran into Hiwamura as he was taking the trash out, and she was dressed up. He was worried that she had a boyfriend that she was going on a date with. Turns out she would be going on a date, but it was with Abikura and his sister. Throughout the whole “date”, Hiwamura seemed to be giving Abikura the cold shoulder. He was unsure if it was because of his confession or not, but he was pretty sure she had no idea what he really meant. Turns out that she wanted to get Abikura a gift, and she was trying to hide it from him. She said it was a reward for helping her, but when she was trying out swimsuits, her boob popped out, so by my count he got two rewards.

Next was when the episode got… weird. Abikura met after school with Hiwamura, Yukishita, and Mizuki like normal. Yukishita came up with an idea to remember their English vocab better, and that was with writing the words on Hiwamura’s skin while wearing a bathing suit. This was weird, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t nearly as weird as both Mizuki and Yukishita wearing skimpy bathing suits underneath their clothes. They also had Abikura write on their bodies as well; I guess the proof is in the pudding because they aced their vocab tests. Sure, they failed everything else, but baby steps, right?

After the meeting, Abikura noticed Hiwamura was practicing swimming. Of course her boob popped out while he was helping her, but there was someone nearby who snapped a photo of them together. I’ve seen enough NTR media to know that blackmail is coming, but I don’t think we’ll get as dark as those stories get. However, I think the person who snapped the photo is a character from the OP, so I bet we’ll see more of this character.

A teacher/student romance is hard to pull off, and while I’m not giving up hope for some romance, it does seem to be taking a backseat to all of the ecchi stuff. I love ecchi as much as the next guy, but there’s only so many believable ways you can manage to make a titty pop out at random times. I hope we get a little more story as we continue, but something tells me I’ll be disappointed.
