English Dub Review: The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen “The Cruel Princess and the Second-Born Prince”

Overview:

Cedric is wracked with guilt over the crisis facing his country, but Pride assures him that the future isn’t set in stone.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I suppose that Stale’s ability to teleport anyone anywhere would be something you’d want to keep secret. Seeing how he uses it from a tactical standpoint in this episode, I can see why. If you’re able to transport a massive amount of troops over a large distance in seconds, that would give you such an astronomical advantage. I don’t know why I never thought of using Stale’s ability in this way, but it makes a whole lot of sense. It was pretty cool to see members of Cedric’s army losing their shit about seeing this happen in real-time. If the reinforcements I just heard about appeared before my very eyes, I’d probably freak out too.

Arthur is a character that I was expecting big things from this season. It looked like a season where war would be ever-present. Since he’s an amazing swordsman, I figured that he would make an impact in battle. I forgot that Arthur had a fantastic ability of his own. He can heal practically anything, and with Cedric’s brother, the king, fighting with an illness, it would make sense to bring him in. They hid his identity from Cedric and the king because it doesn’t make sense that a warrior like Arthur would have this ability. I was a bit surprised Pride wanted to hide it because she usually trusts people way too soon, but I get it.

Tiara also wants to be treated a little bit more equally at this point. Her sister was adventuring and going into battle at eleven years old, so why shouldn’t she be allowed to go to a battle? I can understand why she feels that, but unless I’m missing something, she doesn’t have any sort of ability that will come in handy during a war. But I think with Pride, Arthur, and Stale all going as well, there won’t be much chance for her to get into too much trouble.

With only two episodes left, it’s hard to tell whether all of these plot threads can be tied up in a nice bow. I’m not so optimistic to think that we will, but I hope we’re not left on too egregious a cliffhanger. This show has been enjoyable, and I hope we get more, but I’ve learned not to count on a continuation just cause we got a second season.
