English Dub Review: The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen “The Blasphemous Princess Prepares Herself”
Overview:
When tensions between allied kingdoms rise, Pride must cross a closed border to discover the reason why.
Our Take(Spoilers):
Pride and her army are on their way to Cedric’s kingdom to help. Her armored outfit is dope, by the way, but when they get to the kingdom, they encounter a problem. What I understand is that a neighboring kingdom has erected an impassable wall, and soldiers on the other side have been given orders to attack anyone who attempts to scale it. I thought this was the group of people that Pride was helping Cedric with, but then we find out something that made me confused.
Cedric’s older brother is the king of the kingdom, but the kingdom that put up the wall has a king as well, and it’s also a brother of Cedric’s if I’m following correctly. His reasoning for putting up this giant wall is sound, but I’ll admit I’ve gotten lost.
There’s another kingdom that is planning to attack Cedric’s brother’s kingdom, and his brother put up the wall to protect Cedric and his brother. This way, only his kingdom will be destroyed, and his brother’s will be kept safe. As you can imagine, this pisses Cedric off because he knows that his brother would be trying to help them if the roles were reversed. I don’t know; I like this show and the story is starting to get interesting, but it feels a bit discouraging to be so lost. I’ve been paying attention, I swear, but with so many kingdoms being involved in different things, I think I got lost.
Another slightly disappointing thing is that we only have one episode left, and we’re about to go into an entire war, I’m pretty sure. A third season hasn’t been announced, and this leads me to believe that we’re going to be left on a pretty sizeable cliffhanger with no animated continuation on the horizon.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves with the anime industry. I’ve learned to deal with a lot of anime only having one season as a way to get people to purchase the source material. But when a second season gets made, that leads me to believe that we’re going to get most of the story eventually. Maybe that’s on me for having unrealistic expectations, but it’s still annoying that it might end up being the case here as well.
