English Dub Review: Petals Of Reincarnation “Savior”

Overview:

In the latest episode of Petals Of Reincarnation, “Savior,” many revelations finally come to light, just as characters start to reveal their true colors.

Our Take:

Last episode, Xiang Yu accepted his fate and Nightingale revealed her true colors. As things came to an end, Toua resolved to fight with his own Talents.

With Haitou and Jubei being treated, Touya offers to help Kitazuka in the fight, but is turned down. However, it all appears to be a test of character. Thinking back on past words from Neumann, he also soon realizes that she implanted copies of herself throughout the Greats’ phones. One of her AI duplicates offers her help to Touya. It even comes to light that Neumann is somehow resisting Nightingale’s control, explaining the grace period from the last episode.

Reports soon come in of Returners fighting against the world at large. After all, with a declaration of war, it seems like the opportune time for some Returners to reveal themselves. Touya volunteers to join the fight, especially as one figure is about to return, confirming their fate from a previous attack: Ein.

It’s ultimately good to see Ein make a return to the series, with many fans likely worried about her over the past week, though one has to wonder just what the story has planned for her. However, with so many revelations coming to light in this story, one has to wonder just who is really pulling the strings, as well as what limits Nightingale’s control has. Finally, with Neumann 2.0’s introduction, the story also makes you wonder if viewers are willing to accept their new A.I. overlords.
