English Dub Review: Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter “We Cornered Him. And Then…”
Overview
Seiichirou plays all his cards to unmask the culprit and finally face his own heart.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, we’ve now reached the season finale, which brings Seiichirou’s investigation at the church to a close as he uncovers the truth behind the missing magic donations. With the corruption exposed and the culprit brought to justice, the episode wraps up the central conflict while also giving the supporting cast some quieter moments of closure. Meanwhile, Seiichirou continues to struggle with his feelings toward Aresh and what his future in this world truly means.
The season finale is fairly straightforward and, arguably, a little rushed, especially in the way certain conflicts are resolved so quickly. However, it still delivers a satisfying conclusion to the season’s main storyline. While the final developments may not work equally well for everyone, the series continues to stand out by blending workplace comedy, political intrigue, worldbuilding, and romance rather than relying solely on its BL elements. The dynamic between Seiichirou and Aresh remains a major focus, with their contrasting personalities creating some genuinely funny and surprisingly heartfelt moments throughout the show.
Overall, this show ended up being a much more enjoyable surprise than expected, taking what could have been a simple premise and turning it into a charming mix of fantasy, bureaucracy, and character-driven storytelling. Although the pacing and romantic progression may leave some viewers wanting more, the series succeeds thanks to its likable cast, unique approach to the isekai genre, and Seiichirou’s entertaining “work mode” mentality. While there is currently no word of another season as of this writing, the finale leaves behind a world with plenty of potential for future stories somewhere down the line.
