Love is in the Air (and the Fur): Netflix Unveils ‘Mating Season’ Trailer

If you thought the hormone monsters were chaotic, wait until you meet the animals of the forest. Netflix has officially released a new teaser for Mating Season, a new adult animated comedy that takes the “birds and the bees” talk quite literally. From the creators of Big Mouth, this series looks to be a raunchy, heartfelt, and hilariously honest exploration of dating—except this time, the singles have paws, hooves, and anal glands.

The Premise: The Wild World of Dating

Set in a vibrant forest ecosystem, Mating Season follows a group of amorous critters navigating the complexities of love, lust, and hookups. The trailer makes it clear that while these are animals, their problems are deeply human: loneliness, awkward first dates, and the desperate search for “the one” (or just “the one for tonight”).

The Core Voice Cast:

  • Nick Kroll as Ray, a high-strung raccoon looking for love in all the wrong trash cans.

  • Zach Woods as Josh, a bear who might be a bit too sensitive for his own good.

  • June Diane Raphael as Fawn, a doe navigating the pitfalls of the woodland dating scene.

  • Sabrina Jalees as Penelope, a sharp-witted fox.

Additional cast is as follows: Jason Mantzoukas and Andrew Rannells, Sarah Silverman, Abbi Jacobson, Jason Alexander, Aidy Bryant, Vanessa Bayer, Lena Waithe, David Duchovny, Beck Bennett, Pam Adlon, Timothy Olyphant, Maria Bamford, Mark Duplass, Ana Gasteyer, Jack McBrayer, Natasha Legerro, Matt Rogers, Lauren Lapkus, Meredith Hagner, Lisa Gilroy, Natalie Morales, Clancy Brown, Drew Tarver, Annaleigh Ashford, and Nasim Pedrad.

From the Brutus Pink Team

The series is executive produced by the powerhouse team of Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg, and Nick Kroll under their Brutus Pink banner. Animation is handled by the legends at Titmouse, ensuring the same fluid, expressive, and often grotesque visual style fans have come to love.

“It’s about sex, really—boobies and tushies and such—but it’s also got heart. It’s about finding love and being a good friend.” Nick Kroll (via Ray the Raccoon)
