English Dub Review: Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy “Ami the Forceful Cupid”

Ami arranges all kinds of ploys to try to get Kanan and Kyougi to finally kiss.
Our Take:
If you’ve ever watched the Monogatari series, then you know exactly what toothbrush scene I’m talking about. It’s all I could think about when Kyougi was cleaning out Kanan’s ears. I understand that she’s a devil, so her ears are pointy and more “sensitive,” but they really leaned into it. I’m pretty sure Kanan had an orgasm while getting her ears cleaned. Don’t get me wrong, a good ear cleaning feels amazing, but I don’t know about all that.
It feels like Ami is a stand-in for the audience at this point. We’re all looking at Kanan and Kyougi saying, “Kiss already!” But she’s actually trying to make it happen. I respect it, and I’m starting to agree. With how quickly this couple got together, I thought we would be speedrunning most things. I thought the only thing they might not do is have sex because this isn’t that type of show. But here we are, four episodes in, and there’s been hardly any progress. I can’t hold that against this show when most other romance shows are that way, but with how it started, I expected more, I guess.
