English Dub Review: Go For It, Nakamura-Kun!! “Pursuit! A Cultural Festival on a Starry Night!!”

Overview

Nakamura yearns to walk around the school festival with Hirose, but instead, he finds himself alone.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, this wacky, frantic show delivers one of the funniest and most charming festival episodes yet as Nakamura desperately tries to spend time with Hirose, only for everything to spiral into complete chaos. Between the class play, Hirose’s energetic sister, and the nonstop misunderstandings, the episode perfectly balances awkward comedy with the series’ signature wholesome energy. Nakamura’s internal panic over suddenly questioning his own feelings was especially hilarious, while still somehow feeling weirdly sincere and endearing at the same time.

What really makes the episode work, though, is how much progress Nakamura quietly makes socially without even realizing it. Instead of staying completely isolated, he keeps getting pulled into more interactions with classmates and clubs, and the series continues showing how the people around him genuinely care about him in their own strange ways. The school festival setting also gave nearly every side character a chance to shine, making the entire episode feel lively and warm rather than just focused on romantic comedy antics.

Overall, this was another incredibly cute and entertaining episode that blended absurd humor with surprisingly heartfelt character moments. The play sequence in particular managed to be both hilarious and genuinely sweet, especially with Nakamura finally getting a memorable moment alongside Hirose instead of relying purely on luck or coincidence. More than anything, the episode continues showing Nakamura slowly growing more confident and connected to the people around him, which makes every small victory feel really rewarding.
