The Perseus returns to Ishigami Village to revive Ruri and the other villagers and give them a huge rice feast, as well as lay the next stage of plans for the rocket.

OUR TAKE

It’s time to come full circle as the Dr Stone World Tour reaches its end back where it all started. We do get a few more stops before we get there, like picking up rubber and planting rice from Indonesia and revisiting Treasure Island to revive Soyuz and everyone else there in order to build a launch site for the rocket. Though naturally the most sentimental part is the crew’s long awaited return to Japan after ten years, even if for most of them it’s only felt like three. There, they finally revive Ruri and the other villagers, leading to another swing and a miss romance moment between Chrome and Ruri, but also find that the village has been protected by rock barriers to keep floods away, only it wasn’t made by any of the people. Turns out, the pig and dog that Suika used to play with (who weren’t affected by the petrification because it only does that to humans) have grown and had families of their own, and then paid back the kindness they were given to create these barriers so the statues weren’t washed away or separated. And with that, they say a heartfelt goodbye to Suika, returning to the forest to live their own lives…until they smell food being cooked and return for a bite.

Said food, that Francois makes with the rice and fish they got on their trip, ends up being another hit in the feels as it’s exactly what Senku and the other twenty first century people ate long before all of this happened. Ukyo ends up shedding some tears, and even Senku, who isn’t the most sentimental guy, has to take a second to process the memories that come rushing back. But with that, they can all get comfortable at home and continue the work to make the rocket. And as shown last time, Chrome and Suika are hard at work constructing the return craft to help prevent Senku and whoever goes with him from needing to be stranded on the moon, with the help of Sai in teaching them to code and how to study the length between shapes for their own secret worksite. We’ve only got seven episodes left until the end of the series and plenty of balls are still in the air, but this week was more of the build up, so perhaps next episode will start feeling a bit more eventful.
