‘The Freak Brothers’ Set for High-Flying Return to Tubi This 4/20

In what has become a holiday tradition for the platform, Tubi’s hit adult animated series The Freak Brothers is officially returning for its third season. Keeping with the show’s counter-culture roots, the new episodes are scheduled to premiere on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The series, based on Gilbert Shelton’s legendary underground comic The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, continues to follow the misadventures of three stoner time-travelers from 1969 who find themselves navigating the complexities of modern-day life after waking up from a 50-year slumber.

A Star-Studded Voice Cast

The show’s survival on Tubi is bolstered by a powerhouse voice cast that brings a celebrity edge to the “low-brow” humor. Returning for the third season are:

  • Woody Harrelson as the easygoing Freewheelin’ Franklin Freek.

  • John Goodman as the hulking, thick-headed Fat Freddy Freekowtski.

  • Pete Davidson as the naive and enthusiastic Phineas T. Phreakers.

  • Tiffany Haddish as Kitty, the sharp-tongued cat who often serves as the trio’s reluctant voice of reason.

The ensemble is rounded out by Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Andrea Savage, La La Anthony, and Scumbag Chad.

What’s in Store for Season 3?

The third season promises to dive deeper into the culture shocks and absurdities of the 2020s. According to the studio, fans can expect the trio to tackle everything from the rise of AI and crypto-currency to the shifting landscape of social media fame—all while searching for the next great high.

The upcoming season is produced by WTG Enterprises and animated by Starburns Industries, the acclaimed studio behind Rick and Morty and Anomalisa, ensuring the series maintains its signature trippy and irreverent visual style.

Building a “Freak” Franchise

Since its debut, The Freak Brothers has become a cornerstone of Tubi’s original adult animation slate. Courtney Williams, Head of Tubi Originals, noted the show’s consistent performance, stating that the characters’ “anachronistic perspectives” continue to resonate with a broad audience looking for escapist, character-driven comedy.

With the 4/20 release date locked in, fans can prepare for another round of psychedelic chaos. The entire first two seasons are currently available to stream for free on Tubi, allowing newcomers to catch up on the brothers’ journey from the “Summer of Love” to the modern era.
