English Dub Review: Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy “Kanan’s Easy”

Overview:

The devil Kanan has been cultivating humans to eat their souls… until one of them ends up as her boyfriend.

Our Take:

I was under the impression that Kanan was a succubus, not a demon. So her being a virgin was going to be kind of hard to believe. Don’t get me wrong, the fact that she’s a demon who is who knows how old makes it hard to believe as well, but I can understand it, I guess. How demons handle relationships is anyone’s guess. If you can get past the fact that Kanan is a demon with little to no romantic experience, then I think you’ll be in for something fun.

For one thing, it does what a lot of other rom-coms are afraid to do and has Kanan and Youji get together in the first episode. Sure, it’s kind of an accident because Kanan uses umm… “suggestive” phrasin when she brings up eating him, but hey, it counts! I love tsunderes, and I love rom-coms with actual progression, so let’s hope that after a strong first episode, we are in for more of the same if it continues. Kanan, being a demon, is just a cherry on top.
