English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “The Murdergalsh”

Overview:

Allen realizes he’s still got a long way to go after a B-rank monster attacks the city. If he wants to face the challenges ahead, he must unlock his class’s true potential.

Our Take:

I don’t know about you, but if I hear about a monster called a murdergalsh, I’m not seeking it out. But I guess that’s also why no one will remember my name. Lucky for a family of nobles that Allen isn’t me. He rushed headlong into danger and lured the monster away from town. In an interesting series of events, Allen was not able to defeat the monster and barely even hurt it. He then spent three days and nights in the woods running from the creature. I loved this because it felt like Allen was heading towards what most isekai protagonists turn into, overpowered.

Summoner is a weak class in this particular game, but Allen was making it his own. So I was pleasantly surprised that Allen still has some barriers he needs to overcome to get stronger. He did learn a new ability called “share,” which lets him share with his summons, and he can see what they see. This led to a cute moment where he used one of his flying summons to check on his loved ones in the village. He even left a gold coin behind and vows to start sending more now.
