English Dub Review: The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom “A Love Like Ripples on the Water”
The Sky King with a woman’s name…
Overview
The desserts Tiararose bakes keep disappearing. Could it be the work of fairies?
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, this chapter leans into a lighter, more whimsical conflict while quietly hinting at something more ominous beneath the surface. After their marriage, Tiararose enjoys her usual peaceful routines, only to notice small disturbances like her baked goods mysteriously disappearing. What initially seems trivial soon draws concern from Aquasteed and the palace staff, especially with strange magical activity appearing nearby. The reveal that fairies are behind the mischief adds a playful tone, though their actions are rooted in deeper tensions tied to lingering emotions and unresolved relationships.
As the episode unfolds, Tiararose’s kindness and composure continue to define her role, particularly in her interactions with Icilla and the fairy factions. Icilla’s internal conflict becomes more apparent, caught between her feelings and her responsibilities, while the introduction of the Sky King Claire (Yes it’s a blue-haired androgynous dude with a woman’s name) adds a new dynamic to the story. as Claire’s interest in Tiararose and the revelation that her baking carries a comforting magical quality expands the worldbuilding in a subtle but meaningful way. At the same time, hints about the Ocean King’s hostility suggest that not all conflicts can be resolved through warmth alone.
Overall, this episode blends soft romance, gentle humor, and underlying tension into a steady progression of the story. While the stakes remain relatively low on the surface, the growing attention surrounding Tiararose and the divide among the fairy rulers point toward larger developments ahead. It’s a calm but purposeful installment that continues to build intrigue while maintaining the series’ charming tone.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
