English Dub Review: Sentenced to Be a Hero “Sentence: Undercover Investigation in District of Sodrick 2”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
The chaos in Sodrick’s Shell continues to spiral as Lideo Sodrick’s fate hangs in the balance.
Our Take:
You know, the whole point of going undercover is to blend in and not stand out. But thanks to the assassin and a few child soldiers, that aspect is thrown completely out the window. But the good news is that we get to see more of the thrilling action that’s been carrying the show since the first episode. The other good news is that Xylo and the others apprehend Lideo Sodrick, who reveals he’s been tasked by a Coexister to kill Teoritta in an attempt to protect his children. However, that victory doesn’t last long, as the mercenary Iron Whale arrives to take out Lideo and a shocking reveal threatens to cause further trouble for the “heroes”.
The second halves of each sentence always tend to be much bigger than when they first started, not just in scale but also in the stakes given by the adversaries. The second part of “Undercover Investigation in District of Sodrick” is unsurprisingly no exception to the cause. It doesn’t match the heights of the Mureed Fortress battle narrative-wise, but it definitely highlights the show’s sublime presentation further through the action sequences and art style. It also helps that the twist involving Spriggan’s true disguise elevated the stakes further, meaning that the battle against this formidable demon could serve as the season’s remaining episodes.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
