English Dub Review: Roll Over and Die “Meetings and Partings”
Overview
Flum finds herself in trouble up against Dein’s gang and the corrupt guard.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Flum is now relentlessly pursued through the city by the douchey Dein and his forces. Cornered and forced into a desperate situation, she risks everything to protect an innocent bystander, revealing both the limits and the strange resilience of her mysterious ability. The confrontation is abruptly disrupted when a high-ranking knight, Ottilie, arrives and turns the tide, exposing cracks within the kingdom’s power structure and hinting that the corruption surrounding the Church and the city’s leadership runs deeper than previously believed.
The rest of the proceedings help further emphasize Flum’s unusual moral compass. She isn’t a conventional hero driven by forgiveness, nor is she consumed by vengeance; instead, she walks a pragmatic line between compassion and ruthless self-defense. Her willingness to protect the vulnerable while showing little mercy toward those who repeatedly choose cruelty gives the series a darker, more grounded tone than many fantasy stories. At the same time, new allies and lingering mysteries, particularly surrounding the rescued girl and the Church’s secretive activities, expand the scope of the conflict without fully revealing where these threads will lead.
Overall, the episode works best as a bridge that expands the world while strengthening Flum’s growing circle of allies. New characters bring fresh dynamics to the cast, and the hints about corruption, experimentation, and hidden agendas suggest a much larger conflict quietly forming beneath the surface. Even without giving away major outcomes, the story clearly positions this chapter as an important step toward the bigger confrontation still ahead.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
