English Dub Review: MF Ghost “The Red Bullet”
Overview
Heading into the Double Lane race, Kanata’s qualifying run is impressive but hints at the conflict to come…
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, MF Ghost leans heavily into its qualifying segment, showcasing a course that feels as dangerous as it is exhilarating. With high-speed corners, a water-covered section that threatens grip, and even a small jump that could easily unsettle a car, the track demands near-perfect precision. The main run is impressive overall, but a slight misstep proves costly, shaving off crucial time and narrowly preventing a top qualifying result, reinforcing just how unforgiving this course really is.
A major highlight here is Emma Green, whose presence adds both skill and chaos to the mix. Backed by a powerful machine, she performs at a high level and firmly establishes herself as a serious contender. At the same time, her bold personality shines through in a way that feels intentionally provocative, especially in how she draws attention to herself and her connection to the lead driver. It adds drama, though not always in the most natural way, making her both entertaining and slightly frustrating depending on how you view her role.
Overall, this was a strong setup episode that prioritizes racing tension and spectacle over deeper character consistency. While some of the drama feels exaggerated, the course’s intensity and the competitive field, now elevated by Emma’s presence, do a great job of building anticipation for the race ahead.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
