English Dub Review: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You “I Don’t Want to Have Any Regrets”
Cool motive still dumb
Overview:
Kizuki finally brings to light an incident from the past that caused him to break things off with Mizuho.
Our Take(Spoilers):
We finally get to see what happened that made Kizuki break off contact not only with Mizuho but also with all of his friends. I can somewhat understand why he does what he does, but it’s mostly dumb to me. Essentially, while in college, he injures his shoulder, so he loses the chance to qualify for the national team, among other things. He gets down on himself and quits the swimming team, which, of course, upsets Mizuho.
With Mizuho being upset, this leads Kizuki to get defensive, and he brings up her giving up on her dream of being a manga author. He doesn’t see why it’s okay for her to give up but not him. I can understand why he was upset, but to be so upset that you don’t properly break up with your girlfriend and cut off all contact with your oldest friends for three years? I was intrigued to find out what happened because, with as much as he loved Mizuho, I thought it would take a great deal to make him leave her. Turns out he got upset in an emotional moment and might have ruined most of his important relationships.
