English Dub Review: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You “A Miracle”

Mizuho believes her relationship with her friends could fall apart due to her dating Kizuki. However…

Our Take:

I don’t think it qualifies as a miracle, but my favorite part of the episode was seeing how Airu’s mom reacted to him essentially telling her he’s gay. At least I don’t remember seeing a time when he mentioned it before now, and when your son tells you he confessed to a guy, I think that’s as close to coming out as possible. Airu’s mother hugged him and told him she was proud of him for being true to himself, but she also wanted him to know that she would always be there for him no matter what.

I truly don’t know what miracle is being referred to in this episode’s title. Is the miracle supposed to be the fact that Mizuho realized she could be with Kizuki and still be friends with everyone? If so, then talk about a letdown. I understand that all of her friends are in love with her, but surely they knew that a day like this would come eventually, whether she ended up dating one of them or not. It’s frustrating when the things I enjoy most in this series are the things I don’t think I’m supposed to be enjoying.
