Senior Year is a ‘Bear’: Peacock Unveils Raunchy First Trailer for ‘Ted’ Season 2

The world’s most inappropriate teddy bear is officially heading back to high school for one last hurrah. Peacock has released the first trailer for Season 2 of Ted, the hit prequel series from creator Seth MacFarlane, and it promises exactly what fans are looking for: 1990s nostalgia, copious amounts of marijuana, and—according to the trailer—”dirty bear sex.”

Senior Year Shenanigans

Picking up where the record-breaking first season left off, Season 2 finds us in 1994. Senior year of high school is officially underway for the foul-mouthed Ted and his best friend, the likable but perpetually awkward John Bennett (Max Burkholder).

Living in their working-class Framingham, Massachusetts home, the duo continues to navigate the trials of adolescence under the roof of John’s dysfunctional family. The season will reportedly focus on the pair’s final months of high school, including John’s ongoing, desperate quest to finally lose his virginity before graduation.

Return of the Bennett Family

The core ensemble that made Season 1 a streaming phenomenon is set to return in full:

  • Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted (also serving as writer, director, and showrunner).

  • Max Burkholder as John Bennett.

  • Scott Grimes as the blustering, blue-collar father, Matty.

  • Alanna Ubach as the pathologically sweet mother, Susan.

  • Giorgia Whigham as the outspoken, liberal cousin, Blaire.

A Message from the Showrunners

In typical MacFarlane fashion, the trailer launch was accompanied by a hilariously blunt message from the creative team, including executive producers Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh.

“We hope you enjoy these eight somewhat filthy, hopefully funny heartfelt episodes,” the statement read. They even offered a “revenge” tactic for those who might not like the show: “On the off-chance the series is not your cup of tea, a great way to get us back is to leave all the episodes playing to completion on multiple devices throughout the house. That’ll show us.”

A Growing “Thunder Buddy” Universe

The stakes are high for the sophomore outing, as Season 1 of Ted became Peacock’s most-watched original title ever and the #1 original streaming comedy for two consecutive months following its 2024 debut.

Peacock isn’t stopping with the live-action prequel, either. The streamer also confirmed they are expanding the franchise further with “Ted: The Animated Series,” which will reportedly feature the return of original film stars Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried, picking up where the movies left off.

When to Watch

All eight episodes of Ted Season 2 are set to drop at once on Thursday, March 5, 2026 only on Peacock, making for a perfect (if slightly inappropriate) weekend binge.

With the trailer teasing everything from high school prom disasters to bear-on-bear romance, Seth MacFarlane’s “dirty bear” seems poised to dominate the comedy charts once again this spring.
