FOX Teases 800th Episode Of “The Simpsons”
The iconic animated series The Simpsons is nearing a monumental milestone, and it’s pulling out all the stops for its 800th episode. According to recent reports, the landmark episode, titled “Irrational Treasure,” will feature a star-studded lineup of guest stars, headlined by Hollywood veteran Kevin Bacon and Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson.
Scheduled to air on Sunday, February 15, 2026, on Fox, the episode serves as a tribute to Pennsylvania, sending the Simpson family on a road trip to Philadelphia. The choice of guest stars reflects the setting, as many of the featured voices are natives of the Keystone State.
A Star-Studded Philadelphia Adventure
In the milestone episode, Marge enters the family’s beloved dog, Santa’s Little Helper, into the National Dog Show in Philadelphia. However, what begins as a quest for canine glory quickly spirals into a high-stakes historical conspiracy adventure, parodying the National Treasure film franchise.
-
Kevin Bacon, a Philadelphia native, will voice a concierge who helps (or perhaps hinders) the family during their stay. Interestingly, this marks Bacon’s official debut on the show after a cameo recorded for 2007’s The Simpsons Movie was famously left on the cutting room floor.
-
Quinta Brunson, the Emmy-winning star and creator of the Philly-set hit Abbott Elementary, joins the cast as a new character named Adrienne.
-
Questlove, the legendary drummer for The Roots and a Philadelphia icon, will appear as a tour guide.
More Milestone Magic
The 800th episode isn’t just about the guest actors; it’s also getting a musical makeover. The Philadelphia-based vocal group Boyz II Men will perform a special rendition of the show’s iconic opening theme song and provide a new version of the closing credits music.
The episode will also feature a crossover of sorts with the HBO medical drama The Pitt. Cast members Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and Taylor Dearden will voice medical personnel (a doctor, nurse, and intern, respectively) encountered during the family’s chaotic journey.
A Legacy of Longevity
Reaching 800 episodes is a feat unmatched in American primetime scripted television. To commemorate the event, the show has unveiled a special 800th-episode logo featuring Krusty the Clown.
“Irrational Treasure” is part of the show’s 37th season, which has already seen a parade of high-profile guest stars, including Michael Keaton, Idris Elba, and Julianne Moore. For fans, this milestone is a reminder of the show’s enduring ability to blend cultural relevance with its signature yellow-hued humor.
“Irrational Treasure” premieres February 15 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Fox.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
