English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “Cute and Cool”

Overview:

Knowledge of Suzuki and Tani’s relationship slowly spreads through their class. When Suzuki calls Tani “adorable,” it leaves him feeling unsettled, wondering what she means by it.

Our Take(Spoilers):

Taira feels like the last one to know that Suzuki and Tani have begun dating. To him, it makes no sense because they’re so different. He doesn’t understand how you can not care what others think at all, but the fact that Suzuki, someone who does care what others think, is dating Tani is the biggest head scratcher. But to me, that’s what makes it so beautiful, even though Suzuki cares what others think, she loves Tani so much that she puts that aside.

This show reminds me of Horimiya in the best ways. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but what made that show so special was the fact that the main couple was so good and the side couples were interesting in their own right. But it was also nice to see how Miyamura was adopted by Hori’s friends, and I think we see that here with Suzuki’s friends. I think Tani gets what Suzuki means when she uses the word “adorable” now, and ironically, I think that’s the best word to describe this show as well.
