English Dub Review: Spy X Family “Extreme Level 3 Situation; Battle to the Death in the Sewers”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
The State Security Service manages to plant a mole in WISE, so the race is on to stop him and the leak before Operation Strix is compromised.
OUR TAKE
We begin the last arc, and final three episodes of the season, by focusing on the spy part of the show for once! I mean I don’t mind the focus on the family, but it’s only half of the title. Well, one third if you count the X though I don’t know how you would make an episode about that. Anyway, this is actually a follow up to last episode’s focus on Yor trying to make her marriage to Loid seem more normal by…making it more dysfunctional? Well, no time for that, as Loid gets a sudden alert about a mole, Winston Wheeler, who was planted by the SSS to get more info about WISE, leading to a scramble by both organizations to collect him before the other. Yuri (huh, that’s two reviews in a row where I’m talking about a character named Yuri), Yor’s brother, is naturally on the case, leading to a pretty intense fight where Loid must disguise himself as Yuri and then fight him, with Yuri only knowing this is Twilight, the master of disguise, but not his sister’s fake husband. Loid does eventually overpower Yuri, but it’s a really heated brawl up until that point.
After that, Loid and Fiona eventually track down Wheeler, who is by no means a pushover in combat either, made worse by Loid’s injuries from fighting Yuri. Soon enough, Loid goes down, with Fiona finding him about to be unmasked. Despite Fiona clearly not reading the room when it comes to Loid and his burgeoning love with Yor, she does at least genuinely care about him, and is a competent fighter in her own right, so that pushes her to face Wheeler head on. And with that, we’re down to one last episode for the season to wrap up this arc. It’s a shame none of these feels like it’s going to move the overall plot forward when it’s all said and done, but it is at least an entertaining story to close out the season, and after all of the weird dub release kerfuffles that Crunchyroll has been having lately, I’m hoping it will come out at the regular time so we can end this on a high note. Also a shame that Yor didn’t really get a full arc to herself this time, but she did get that long one last season so it basically evens out, I would say.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
