Crunchyroll Delays A Number Of Dub Premieres Ahead Of Bad Winter Storm

Fans of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will have to wait a little longer to hear the English cast return to the northern territories. A massive winter storm in the United States has forced Crunchyroll to postpone the English dub premiere of Frieren Season 2 along with several other highly anticipated Winter 2026 titles.

The delay stems from the severe weather currently impacting the Dallas, Texas area. Crunchyroll’s primary in-house dubbing studio is located in Coppell, a suburb of Dallas, and the dangerous conditions have brought production to a temporary halt to ensure the safety of the voice actors and staff.

Updated Release Schedule for Frieren

While Frieren Season 2 officially began its subtitled run on January 16, the English dub was originally slated to debut on January 30. Due to the storms, the schedule has been adjusted as follows:

  • Episode 1: Now scheduled for February 6, 2026.

  • Episodes 2 and 3: Will release together on February 13, 2026.

Crunchyroll has noted that once these initial adjustments are made, they expect to return to a regular weekly release schedule for the remainder of the season.

Other Affected Titles

Frieren isn’t the only series caught in the frost. A significant portion of Crunchyroll’s Winter 2026 dub lineup has seen similar one-to-two-week postponements. Other notable series affected include:

  • TRIGUN STARGAZE: Episodes 2 and 3 are now scheduled for February 5.

  • Golden Kamuy Final Season: Episode 3 moved to February 9, with Episodes 4 and 5 following on February 16.

  • Jack-of-all-Trades, Party of None: Episode 3 moved to February 4.

  • Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You: Episodes 2 and 3 moved to February 5.

What is Staying on Track?

Certain dubbed series like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and You and I are Polar Opposites are currently maintaining their original release windows, suggesting they may be produced at different facilities or had episodes completed prior to the storm.

While the “Polar Vortex” has caused a brief “hiatus” for the English-speaking party, the delay appears to be strictly temporary. Fans have generally responded with understanding on social media, prioritizing the safety of the creative teams behind one of the most beloved anime of the decade.
