Ride Into the West: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run Anime Sets March 19 Debut

The long-awaited journey across the American frontier finally has a starting line. Netflix and david production have officially confirmed that the anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7—Steel Ball Run will begin its global rollout on March 19, 2026.

In a departure from the traditional weekly release or full-batch drops, the series will debut with its “1st Stage”—a special 47-minute premiere episode that sets the stakes for the most epic race in the franchise’s history.

The Race for the Ages

Set in the late 19th century, Steel Ball Run serves as a reboot of the JoJo universe. The story follows Johnny Joestar, a former star jockey who was paralyzed in a tragic accident. His life changes when he encounters Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious racer who wields a pair of spinning steel balls that possess a strange, life-giving power.

Hoping to regain the use of his legs, Johnny enters the “Steel Ball Run”—a cross-country horse race with a $50 million prize—alongside Gyro. But as the race progresses from San Diego to New York, the duo discovers that the competition is merely a front for a dark conspiracy involving the President of the United States and powerful “Holy Corpse” relics.
