English Dub Review: Sanda “You, an Everlasting Moment”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Sanda, Amaya, Fuyumura, and Ono try to enjoy the Peak of Youth Festival, but the battle with Namatame puts a quick end to the fun.
OUR TAKE
On the tenth week of Sanda, my true love gave to me: Ten bullets fired, nine old lady massages, eight heart attackings, seven kids a-killing, six organ transplants, five wet dreams, four old man hugs, three detected lies, more supporting cast, and a buff Santa in his undies! Woo, that’s taking up more of the review each time! Anyway, we’re finally at the Peak of Youth Festival where a bunch of events are popping off, and not all of them are fun for everyone. Sanda tries to have some fun with his fiance, who finally gets the nerve to plant a kiss on him, though that just ends up sending Sanda into a mental tail spin as he very much liked that kiss, though he now has to juggle that with the knowledge that if Santa falls in love, he dies. Not only that, but there’s also the potential squickiness of a big beefy old man kissing a teenage girl. And yeah, Sanda is not ACTUALLY a big beefy old man, but he still has to sometimes BE that beefy old man, and for Santa as a symbol to mean much, having a scandal of him kissing on teenagers is just going to make things worse all around. But we still have two episodes left, so let’s see how he handles that.
And Sanda is not the only one dealing with some crazy stuff this episode, as Fuyumura and Ono try having a fun time together, but Fuyumura ends up hearing the gunshots and runs towards that, leaving Ono to sit and resent her, as well as lean more into Oshibu’s tainted view of youth. As for where those gunshots came from, Yagiuda tries to defuse Namatame from trying to kill Santa, only to nearly get capped himself. Sanda arrives soon after in Santa form and takes a bunch of bullets in the process, but manages to knock out almost all of Class 10 aside from Namatame, who fills him full of holes with no end in sight. Basically, just about everyone involved in this episode has some negative view of either youth or adulthood, thinking it takes away or deprives you of something that the other provides, whereas it’s really just a passage of time and things change whether you’re an adult or a kid. Perhaps we are headed towards that revelation for some of them as we approach the season finale in two short weeks.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
