Review: Smiling Friends “Pim and Charlie Save Mother Nature”
Overview
It’s in the friggin’ title brother, read that…and you’ll get an idea of what happens.
Our Take
Not for nothing but this week’s episode of Smiling Friends could very well be another Halloween episode with how bat shit crazy Zam Studios’ take on Mother Nature is. When Pim and Charlie confront Mother Nature, some of plot turns into a bit of a “Childrick of Mort” but that all goes away when Boss and Allan nearly get it on in the deep woods.
And how about Jim Norton with the guest appearance as Moth Man? A whole adventure for a rather disgusting twist that was everything you could hope it would be and more. Moreover, Mr. Boss’ nonchalant way of dealing with feces was maybe the most vile thing I’ve seen in a long time and totally not called for but worth every penny.
Smiling Friends continues a world-bending season three for Adult Swim, we only have a few episodes left until the end, and I really don’t want it to. The different animation sequences that are laden throughout are worth constant re-watches to see if you’ve missed anything, and everybody’s dialogue is laugh-out-loud obnoxious.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
