English Dub Review: Let’s Play “Good Game”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Sam finds out some shocking news about her job, Link reassures Angela, and Marshall joins the Rare Spawns for a raid.
OUR TAKE
Following up from the end of last episode, Sam came to her desk and found her belongings missing, to which the only assumption that made sense to her was that she had been fired by Charles following their talk where she mentioned she didn’t want to be the CEO like her father wanted. Well, turns out that his solution to that is to bump her up to management as his assistant and hone more of her talents to see if she at least COULD do it if she wanted to and make the choice from there. It’s actually a rather nice gesture and shows that he genuinely believes in her and wants her to succeed and grow, though while this first day on the new job worked out well, we’ll see as time goes on how she thinks of this career pathway. It definitely puts Charles in the clear lead among the other two main competitors, Link and Marshall, though he can only have that lead for so long. Though heck, we’re already more than halfway through the season and Marshall’s barely done jack despite being more prominently featured in the OP, so maybe that was all a red herring.
As for those other two, we check in with Link checking in with Angela after that whole biting thing happened, mainly to offer her words of encouragement which are visualized by him being a giant glowing lion, which would honestly make me feel more confused and nervous than encouraged. But it seems to work on Angela well enough…in fact, a little too well, as she starts blushing and runs out of the cafe in a fluster. So, I guess Link at least has a plan B whenever he chooses to bow out of chasing Sam, so good for him. Meanwhile, Marshall contemplates playing Sam’s game, Ruminate, again like she asked, though Monica cautions against it once again. But he gets a kick in the pants from Link to do so when he joins Sam’s friend group, who have at least somewhat warmed up to him, in a big raid boss event. So, with only five more episodes in the season, and possibly the series, Marshall is gonna really have to hurry up to close that lead. And probably break up with Monica at some point, but we’re probably not in a rush to do that. Or maybe he is, who knows.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
