Wayne Brady Joins ‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ Season 4 as Fan-Favorite Taryon Darrington
Prime Video’s hit animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina, is preparing for its highly anticipated fourth season, and the production is loading up on star power and high-stakes villains. During the “Critical Role & Prime Video: A Decade of Adventure” panel at New York Comic Con, it was officially announced that multiple Emmy Award-winner Wayne Brady will join the cast.
Brady will lend his voice to the flamboyant and eccentric character Taryon Darrington, an addition sure to delight fans of the original Critical Role campaign.
Taryon Darrington, or “Tary,” is a fabulously wealthy artificer and adventurer known for his theatrical personality, arrogant charm, and signature dramatic entrances. Tary’s story in the original Campaign One saw him evolve from a spoiled, self-proclaimed hero into a genuine member of the adventuring world.
Wayne Brady, celebrated for his versatility in comedy, music, and performance on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, is a perfect fit for the larger-than-life character. Brady’s casting promises to bring a new layer of chaotic charisma and humor to the ensemble as Vox Machina deals with increasingly dark threats.
The Season 4 news didn’t stop with a new party member. Attendees at the NYCC panel were also given major clues about the primary antagonist of the upcoming season. The show is confirmed to bring a legendary Dungeons & Dragons villain to the screen: The Whispered One, widely known in D&D lore as Vecna. While Sam Riegel (the voice of Scanlan Shorthalt and original player of Taryon Darrington) joked about Brady taking on the villain role, he quickly clarified that the identity of the actor voicing the iconic D&D entity remains a mystery.
Between the introduction of the charming Taryon Darrington and the looming threat of one of D&D’s most recognizable and terrifying foes, Season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina is shaping up to be the most ambitious and dangerous chapter yet.
Season 4 is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2026. Fans can look forward to more news as the promotional campaign kicks off.
