Hip-Hop Royalty Unites for Tehk City: Dr. Dre, Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, and Arabian Prince Launch Animated Neo-Noir
A supergroup of West Coast hip-hop legends—Ice-T, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and N.W.A. founding member Arabian Prince—are pooling their creative forces to produce Tehk City, a gritty new animated action series. The project, which is being spearheaded by Ice-T and artist Tommy The Animator, is billed as a “high-octane animated neo-noir” set to deliver a fierce, uncompromising vision of a brutal future.
A World Where Chaos Reigns
Tehk City takes place in a brutal, near-future penal colony, where “every choice is life or death, chaos reigns and only the ruthless survive.” The aesthetic of the show is based on the distinctive, hard-hitting style of co-creator Tommy The Animator.
The series is a spin-off from the graphic novel prequel, Death For Hire: The Origin of Tehk City, and is envisioned as the centerpiece of a larger IP universe spanning music, toys, and other ventures.
The All-Star Lineup and Roles
The rap icons are not just lending their names; they are integral to the series’ creative and vocal performance:
- Ice-T serves as a co-creator, co-writer, and executive producer, and provides the voice for the show’s central character, the crooked Mayor Chuck Davis.
- Dr. Dre is attached as an executive producer and will compose the original score for the animated series, ensuring the soundtrack is as foundational to the project as the story.
- Snoop Dogg joins as an executive producer and is set to voice Pretty Black, an enigmatic figure who controls the black market network of intelligence throughout the city.
- Arabian Prince also steps up as a co-creator, co-writer, and executive producer, rounding out the team of hip-hop pioneers guiding the vision.
The project is being produced by Ambitious Entertainment, which is currently in discussions with major domestic and international distributors and streamers for a multi-platform release in the coming year.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
