English Dub Review: Tales of Wedding Rings “Episode 13”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Hime’s sister appears to teach the Ring Maidens how to use magic.
Our Take:
The first season of this highly sexualized harem anime concluded abruptly with the introduction of Hime’s little sister, Morion. The reason for this last-minute sibling reunion is that this powerful sorceress will be teaching Satou’s wives how to perform magic for their continued quest to defeat the Abyss King. This plot element continues with the show’s second season, with Morion possibly being another contender for Satou’s love, given her jealousy towards him and Hime. Additionally, under Alabaster’s guidance, the team is embarking on another adventure that will take them to a new set of locations to gain more power, with the first destination being the Great Library. However, it appears that their latest quest would be more treacherous than ever, as the Abyss King placed a curse on Satou that would eventually kill him.
Regarding my experience with Tales of Wedding Rings, I wasn’t particularly eager to continue this journey with the Ring King and his wives. Don’t get me wrong, the fan service in this show was irresistibly seductive, even for those wanting to see the Maidens’ uncensored body parts. You know which ones I mean. Additionally, its series of innuendos and sex-related humor provided its share of giggle-worthy moments that highlight the characters’ likability, and the animation was suitably saturated and stylized. It’s that the series didn’t offer much else in its formulaic harem storyline, aligning similarly with other anime from the same category. “Episode 13” seemed like it’s going to provide more of the same in the latest chapter of Satou’s journey, for better or worse. But, at least it preserved some of the positive aspects that made me tolerate the first season, especially the Maidens’ alluring appearances, so I shouldn’t be too upset about that. What matters now is whether its second season can improve the show’s overall premise to win my heart the same way Satou did for Hime.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
