Review: The Great North “Cakeleration of Judependence”
Overview
The family’s summer trip is in trouble. Can Judy save it?
Our Take
The penultimate week before the end of The Great North’s fifth season on FOX is here and Wolf getting new eyebrows is one of the better bits the show has done in quite a while. Similar to other Honeybee/Wolf adventures the duo are beyond dependable in just running amok around town to help spice up a new episode that features Judy going nuts trying to get everyone on board for a trip to a theme park that has long been a fixture of her desires.
Some of the strands that Judy deployed to try and get to the aforementioned trip seemed to have been trimmed down to a state of that of a nub leaving some odd time skips but boy did this show get me with the end credits short “Dr. Whiskers”. Dear Lord, this entire short could very well be a living breathing series on Adult Swim tomorrow if it were pitched and I would absolutely be hear for it if it were to actually happen.
Overall, we get a rather pedestrian episode of The Great North emboldened by the quick wits of an animated short that absolutely puts this review up a full point for ingenuity and making me laugh the hardest of any episode of The Great North I’ve seen thus far.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
