Review: Floor 999 “The Big Promotion”
Adult Swim SMALLS has punched in with a new animated workplace comedy, Floor 999. Created by Los Angeles-based animator and director Alan Moutal, known professionally as Kissing Party, the series of shorts follows a character named Tony after he gets a major promotion to a building with 1000 floors.
The first short, “The Big Promotion,” premiered on September 5, 2025 and in it Tony gets a big promotion, which sounds really cool until he realizes no one respects him and the job might kill him. In terms of premise for a series is one of the more TV-ready animated comedies that Adult Swim Smalls has posted this year. Fans of Smiling Friends who like TV shows about characters with remedial work would get a kick out of this one complete with a similar taste in aesthetic and randomness that should do just fine in the world of quarter-hours.
The series will continue with “The Big Delivery” on September 12 and “The Big Lever” on September 19.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
