English Dub Review: Call of the Night “3rd Night: There aren’t any ghosts in a haunted house.”
Overview:
A tense confrontation with Anko reveals an alarming secret: vampires have a weakness they didn’t know about. Now, they all must decide their next move.
Our Take:
How Call of the Night handles vampire lore is fairly unique. Not being able to turn people unless they’re in love with you is one such example, but now we have another. Anko put Akihito’s old glasses on his face and then started stabbing him. With my previous vampire knowledge, I didn’t think that would do anything, but I was wrong. Turns out that if a vampire is around an item of importance from when they were human, it makes them weak. There’s still a lot we don’t know about when it comes to this, but I thought that was an interesting wrinkle. This, of course, worries Yamori as he and Nazuna try to track down items that might be used against her.
With the way this episode started, I was prepared for a more serious tone. But it eventually settled down back to what we’re used to. I think what we’re about to follow now is what happened to Nazuna when she was turned. I’m enjoying where this season is going so far.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
