Kristi Noem Slams South Park Over Her Portrayal

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has publicly criticized the creators of South Park for their “lazy” and “petty” depiction of her in a recent episode, “Got a Nut.” The episode, which satirized the Trump administration, portrayed Noem as a Botox-obsessed “ICE Barbie” who repeatedly shot puppies and led raids on people of color.

Speaking on a podcast, Noem admitted she had not watched the episode, but was aware of the jabs at her appearance. She called the jokes “so lazy” and a tactic used by “liberals and the extremists” to criticize women’s looks when they can’t attack their work. This comment came despite the episode also brutally satirizing her controversial admission in her memoir about shooting a puppy and mocking ICE recruitment practices.

The incident is the latest in a series of back-and-forth exchanges between the show and the administration. The White House had previously dismissed the show as “irrelevant,” while the Department of Homeland Security used a South Park promotional image for an ICE recruitment ad, prompting a sarcastic response from the show’s official social media account. In a final show of defiance, the South Park account on X (formerly Twitter) changed its profile picture to a still of Noem’s comically “melting” face from the episode.
