English Dub Review: The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl “The Gorilla End Filled with Determination and Love”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Sophia returns to campus to save her classmates and confront Leohart.
OUR TAKE
And just like that, we’re at the end of our journey with the Gorilla Girl and her frustratingly tepid story. As a finale, this is incredibly by the books, with Sophia going back to the school for her final battle against Leohart, who has pretty much forgone any sympathetic or understandable motives and has reverted to just being a generic bad guy. Complete with the obligatory “you’re not so different you and I, join me and we will rule over these weaklings, I see you’re just as weak now die”, canned phrases. If there’s something commendable to be said, it’s that this finale does show the culmination of Sophia being a kind person with her strength, which then allows her to rally other classmates, some of which she was not on good terms with before, to help in this fight, showing that her good nature shined through and was the real thing that won the day, not just her strength. For all this show’s faults and unwillingness to branch out, I can at least be glad it brought together a good message by the end. I wish that meant I could say more nice things about it, but that’s not happening.
Other than that, we do learn a bit of last minute tidbits of worldbuilding for some of the characters, like Eddie having the Cat God blessing and Carissa having the Mole God blessing. Honestly I thought Eddie being a cat was something that I had just missed someone saying because it seemed obvious with his lax nature and gold eyes, but I guess not. And aside from Leohart getting beaten and arrested, no one else really gets a solid conclusion to their stories, whether they just sort of unceremoniously step out of their final scene or simply leave things open ended like with Sophia and Louis. They seem to kinda set some things up with Louis saying he wants to be the head of the Knights but since Sophia has the Gorilla God blessing that means she may get it because it has famously only ever gone to those with that blessing, but who knows if she even wants that. They kiss, I’d say credits roll but they’ve been rolling the whole time, and that’s that. Ultimately, I don’t feel much more than mild disappointment with this show, so now I need to prepare to communicate that in a Season Review. See ya then!

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
