Review: Grimsburg “Loosely Goosey”

Overview

Flute and Martinez butt heads as they are sent on a literal wild goose chase.

Our Take

Loosely Goosey refers to an actual goose that has weird ass powers that rums amok through Grimsburg but really it’s just a red herring for an episode all about Flute and Martinez attempting to learn that yes, they can hate each other AND still work together as a formidable duo on the force.

As much as I enjoyed the goose, it just misses laying a golden egg because Martinez was established as a boss nearly a dozen episodes ago which either means this was supposed to be the season two premiere episode that then got pushed for whatever reason, or canon no longer applies to this series and I should probably be happy with what I’m getting. You can even kind of tell that this is one of the earlier episodes because Otis is nowhere to be found after having a number of weeks where he’s been increasingly featured.

In any event, the creepy duck barely helps pass this episode that’s kind of all over the place in it’s execution and if the network or producers had this as episode that needed to be delayed for production issues or if the script writers just wanted to formally reintroduce Martinez as the police chief, either way the story is hampered down a bit as a result.
