Review: Bob’s Burgers “The Place Beyond the Pinecones”
Overview
The Thunder girls spend a night in the woods; Tina faces something even scarier than Troop 257.
Our Take
Anyone expecting run-ins with grizzly bears or other tropey girl scout premises will be pleasantly surprised when they get to check out the much more suspenseful “The Place Beyond the Pinecones” written by Katie Crown. The episode takes us deep into the woods for a contest that, at first, I was like “great another contest with the troops” type of deal but in actuality the contest goes away rather quickly and in it’s stead is more of a Us-type deal featuring a creepy-ass boarding school for little girls to learn their fucking manners.
I kid, but really this week’s episode is an Emmy-worthy contender that is both hilarious but also a creepy tale that deserves its flowers…or in this case pine cones. Shout outs should also go to director Brian Loschiavo who perfectly balances the moody elements of the series that almost hearkens back to the ingredients as to what the show was supposed to be during the franchise’s pilot days. Bob’s Burgers still knows how to bring it when they need to and boy do they this week.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
