English Dub Review: Wind Breaker “SHALL WE DANCE?”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
The name of the group pursuing Shizuka is GRAVEL, a group of delinquents from the Sunaba District, a notorious area known for its rough reputation.  They begin to rampage through Keisei Street again, this time with more members, in an attempt to capture Shizuka.  However, the members of Roppo Ichiza, Sakura, Nirei, and Suo are ready to confront them!  Roppo Ichiza struggles in the fight due to the overwhelming number of GRAVEL forces despite them being beaten down one after another.  Meanwhile, Tsubakino, Seiryu, and Uryu wait with Shizuka at the Burlesque Bar OUGI.

Our Take:
Bofurin’s tussle in Keisei Street just got a whole lot tougher thanks to the arrival of a new dangerous group.  We usually thought that KEEL was the worst of the worst regarding their ruthless methods, but if there’s any indication, this new team could wind up taking that title.  This group, known as GRAVEL, has their eyes set on bringing back Shizuka, and they’ll be willing to annihilate anyone in their way.  Not to mention, they have an endless amount of delinquents backing them up, an advantage that would put Furin’s other opposing groups to shame.  However, as usual, it’s not just the numbers that make these antagonistic forces a threat.  It’s also the formidableness they brought to the table and how they could push others’ buttons, both physically and mentally.
GRAVEL may have been the case, as their origin in the streets fuels their rage against the upper-level people, including those from Keisei Street.  Additionally, the episode reveals that their target, Shizuka, may also have grown up in the Sunaba District, which would be the reason why Sakura and the others must protect her.  These revelations fuel the stakes of this latest white-knuckled showdown in the streets.  But as far as I can tell from the episode count, the arc’s length could mean we may not get the opportunity to explore more of this busy entertainment district.
However, to no one’s surprise, the heart in between the violence continues to serve as the show’s greatest strength, with Shizuka willing to protect her friends as they did in defending her.  Plus, we finally get to see Tsubakino in action for the first time when he battles GRAVEL’s leader, Shuhei Suzuri, who’s suitably voiced by Eduardo Vildasol.  The result is a thrilling “dance-off” that highlights Tskubakino’s status as one of the Four Kings, with Kiba Walker continuing to carry his well-rounded personality with his vocal performance.  Of course, it’s not without its inspiring themes and music that help elevate my continued enjoyment of the second season’s “Keisei Street” arc.
