English Dub Review: Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- “His Butler, Mopping Up”

Our Take:

I’m confused as to when this takes place even more now because the bad guys were driving a tank. They call this tank a “panzer” and if you do a quick Google search you will find that the first panzer was developed in 1932. I will say that it was awesome to see Sebastian kick the tank cannon so hard that it bent upwards. Look, I’m okay with timelines being a little wacky but I would like some consistency. When Ciel is freaking out about magic and stuff but a tank existing fifty years before it was developed is met with mild shock, that is a bit annoying.

The reason I get so hung up on this technology part is that other than the fact that Ciel has a demon butler this show has been grounded fairly realistically. At the very least I would like some sort of explanation of why this technology is coming around so much quicker. Maybe that’s going to be a part of an upcoming plotline but as of now it feels out of place.
