This Week In Obituaries: Alf Clausen, Original Composer For “The Simpsons”, Dead At 84

The age of The Simpsons continues to show as the series’ original composer, Alf Clausen, has passed away at the age of 84 after battling Parkinson’s Disease.

Alf was the original composer for The Simpsons having served on the show for 600 episodes until he was let go and replaced with Bleeding Fingers Music which ultimately led to a lawsuit that was eventually settled.

The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, The Simpsons exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. The Emmy Award-, Annie Award- and Peabody Award-winning animated comedy has won 37Emmy Awards and will begin its 36th season this fall.
