King Of The Hill Gets Premiere Date On Hulu
Slated to debut on August 4th will be the revival of Hulu’s King of the Hill. Originally airing for thirteen seasons on Fox, King of the Hill carved a special place in television history with its grounded humor and relatable characters. The series, created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, offered a witty and often poignant look at the lives of the Hill family and their neighbors in suburban Texas.
Details about the plot of the revival are still largely under wraps, but judging by the new opening credits released to the socials that you can watch below it’s hinted that the new series will feature a time jump, potentially focusing on a now-adult Bobby Hill.
While official casting announcements are still rolling out, fans are hopeful to see many of the original voice actors reprise their roles as Hank, Peggy, Bobby, and Boomhauer though are largely disappointed by the fact that Toby Huss won’t get to reprise his role as Kahn Souphanousinphone and what to do about the characters of Luanne and Lucky after Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty’s deaths. Hardwick was also confirmed to reprise his role as Dale Gribble, but died in August 2023 before any new episodes made it to air though it was later revealed that Hardwick had recorded “a couple” of episodes prior to his death. The cast and crew are even scheduled to make an appearance at the ATX TV Festival in late May and early June of this year, promising more details and potentially some sneak peeks for eager fans.
Update 5/30 with Synopsis and Toby Huss taking on the role of Dale:
After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale (voiced by Toby Huss), Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
