English Dub Review: To Be Hero X “One Actor”

Overview:

Yang Cheng, an E-Soul stage actor, struggles with gaining popularity while juggling work and romance.

Our Take:

As I said last week, this is somewhat of an anthology series where we will follow different superheroes for a while. E-Soul is the hero we’re following right now and he also looks like the person that show Moon. I was thinking it would pick up right where the last episode left off but from a different perspective. So, I was a little disappointed that wasn’t the case but we are following Yang Cheng on his path as he becomes the new E-Soul, I assume. But if this eventually leads to Yang being the one to shoot Moon I find it hard to believe because of what he’s gone through.

The beginning of this episode gave me some Batman vibes when Yang’s mom and dad were gunned down in an alley. He was saved by E-Soul and I thought it was going to be a Batman and Robin situation but instead Yang spent time in orphanages and became an on-stage E-Soul actor. He’s asked by his crush (while he’s in costume no less) to hangout with her little brother. When he gets kidnapped it gives Yang the perfect opportunity to be a hero for real and finally gain some trust value. This arc is just beginning and I’m a little disappointed we have to wait for answers but I like Yang so far.
