Review: The Great North “Ham to Lose a Guy Adventure”
Overview
Judy and Beef interfere with Ham’s personal life. Wolf and Honeybee go on a quest to squash a rumour going around town that Wolf eats worms.
The fallout of Ham’s breakup continues in a way that hasn’t been seen in a long time in an animated comedy on broadcast television…with serial elements. That’s right, all the rage of animated comedies in the mid 2010’s, I love the idea that we’re continuing to follow this premise of Beef and Crispin’s romantic interest and subsequent fallout since it’s early inception in 2021. Granted, it’s not very consistent and we’re certainly not getting Common Side Effects levels of cliffhangers here, but still it’s fun to have a little bit to hang on to and it will be interesting to see if we get to see it the whole way through.
Wolf eating worms is the kind of stuff that a Will Forte-voiced character would be perfect for. Especially when you have someone as good as Dulce Sloan’s “Honeybee” to volley jokes with back and forth. The banter between the two is some of the unique personality traits of the show that gets us excited to check in week after week because it seldom takes itself too seriously and always comes with the giggles.
Overall, a solid episode of The Great North this week. Nothing groundbreaking but hopefully the aforementioned serial elements for Ham and his love life continues because there aren’t a lot of series that are even doing these types of shows anymore.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
