Festival News: Stuttgart And Annecy Appearances ; Hulu Headed To ATX 2025

The summer 2025 festival season is heating up and we’ve got a number of the hot panels to look out for across the world that should help clue in which series are closest to debuting. Included in this look is Get Jiro, King of the Hill, and more.

Annecy

Warner Bros. Animation’s Get Jiro

From Warner Bros. Animation and based on the New York Times bestselling DC/Vertigo graphic novel, Get Jiro* is set in a not-too-distant future Los Angeles where master chefs rule the town and people literally kill for a seat at the best restaurants. Adult Swim and Warner Bros. Animation spotlight their strategy and efforts in the booming adult animation space. Michael Ouweleen (President, Adult Swim) and Peter Girardi (Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation) preview current and upcoming projects and share their team’s strategies to ensure Warner Bros. Discovery remains the destination for adult animation.

During a Making-of Session on Monday, June 9, Marvel Animation will host an exclusive premiere screening of the first episode of the action-adventure series Eyes of Wakanda. The story follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze and this is their story.

ATX Festival

King of the Hill

Premiere Date: Summer 2025 TBA

Panel Date: May 30 at 7 p.m. at The Paramount Theatre

King of the Hill depicts the life and times of Hank Hill (Mike Judge), his family and their neighbors in the fictional suburb of Arlen, Texas, the heartland of America. A hard-working, loyal family man and proud Texan, Hank is assistant manager of Strickland Propane. He’s a blue-collar Everyman who sees himself as the voice of common sense and reason in a world of incompetent sales clerks, meddling bureaucrats and do-good liberals.

School Presentation: Animation Lucerne meets adult swim

Speaker: Mark Taynton, head of Adult Swim Europe.

For more than 20 years, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) has provided an education in all main disciplines of animated film that is unique in Switzerland. The cooperation with Cartoon Network and now Adult Swim has been an integral part of the BA programme since 2011. The MA Animation programme, newly formed in 2021, offers individual specialisations for students with a focus on Production, Concept and Exploration. The „Animation Lucerne meets Adult Swim“ programme shows BA and MA graduation films, the newly created idents and current series highlights from Adult Swim, followed by a Q&A
