English Dub Review: To Be Hero X “The Ever-Standing Hero”
Overview:
Nice (Lin Ling) aims to defeat the Ever-Standing Hero to rank in the top ten.
Our Take:
By the rules of this universe, heroes get their powers from the number of people who believe in them and how the public perceives them. So what does that mean if you’re the Ever-Standing Hero, Firm Man? I know the name is kind of lame, but not as lame as how he has to live his life. Since the public perceives him as always standing tall, he can barely bend his knees. As we are shown, that makes things like taking a dump and getting some sleep hard to do. So maybe, Nice forcing him to retire essentially, could be seen as a good thing.
Nice may have bumped himself into the top ten of heroes, but now it seems like the problems are only getting worse. The same guy who was trying to expose him in the first episodes has found Moon and kidnapped her. The world believed that she was dead, but now it could ruin not only Nice’s image but the lie that this society of heroes seems to be built upon.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
