English Dub Review: The Beginning After the End “The King, Under Attack”
Overview
Arthur’s family decides to move to the city for his education, but the roads prove to be less than safe…
Our Take
Arthur’s journey continues as his prodigious talent catches the attention of those around him. Realizing they can no longer guide him properly, his parents seek a mentor capable of matching his growing potential. They enlist their former adventuring party, the Twin Horns, as escorts on a journey to Xyrus City. Along the way, Arthur faces real challenges—learning from defeat, forming unexpected bonds, and experiencing moments of danger that test both his physical strength and emotional maturity.
While the story introduces new characters and deepens the world-building, it doesn’t shy away from the risks of adventuring. Arthur’s interactions with the Twin Horns, particularly with Jasmine, offer both development and subtle mentorship. And the rest of the proceedings mixes heartwarming family moments with darker undertones, tackling themes like sacrifice and survival. Despite the main character’s young age, the writing continues to explore serious decisions that hint at a far more complex narrative…
Overall, this episode pushes the story forward with emotional beats and a thrilling cliffhanger. Though the animation remains inconsistent, particularly during combat, the strong storytelling, immersive soundtrack, and character-driven moments make up for its visual shortcomings. And with the way the post-credits scene ended, I’m curious to see what direction it takes next!

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
