English Dub Review: Loner Life in Another World “Dungeon Expedition”

Overview:

His classmates are adjusting well to their new lives as adventurers, but Haruka still wants to return to his life alone in the woods.

Our Take:

Haruka learns of an item that can make people like him and change their feelings about him. The ironic thing is that he thinks the class rep and everyone else doesn’t like him, and that’s why they get mad at him. They care about him, and when he goes out on his own, they worry about him. But poor Haruka thinks that they only get angry at him because they dislike him. So, I think the end of this little arc will be interesting if it goes that route.

I’ve been upset with how the class rep treats Haruka because he just wants to go off on his own, but she rips him a new one every time. I thought it might have been because she has feelings for him but doesn’t want to admit it. That could still be true, but this episode shed some light on how everyone around Haruka feels. They care about him and appreciate all he’s done for them, so they get worried when he runs off on his own. This episode made their reactions a little bit more acceptable to me.
